Old Nicole

Remember when Nicole Richie was rakishly thin and overly tanned? Well, aside from looking like a stretched raisin I thought she was the the most glamorous girl in Hollywood at the time.I thought she was adorable and would have made Lilo and Hilton green. Here are some fashion pics from back in the day xx

below is a personal fave...

Sweet Read

Not sure if any of you have heard of Plum Sykes - she's a popular fashion writer and contributing editor at US Vogue - I'm reading one of her books at the moment, the Debutante Divorcee. Cute stuff! Plum was in the first SATC movie, at the fashion shoot Carrie does for Vogue - I suppose we were all too distracted by Andre Leon-Talley and his Louis Vuitton - but she's there pointing her delicate fingers at Carrie.
Aaaanyway about the book. It's the sequel to her book Bergdorf Blondes (which was a best seller), both books surrounding the hectic and glamorous lives of the socialites of New York's Upper East Side. If you want labels, luxury and a side of the fargos, you need to read this.
.."Married girls in New York these days put almost as much effort into losing husbands as they once did into finding them. It's not uncommon for husbands to be mislaid almost as soon as the honeymoon begins. This is a particular hazard in locations like Capri or Harbour Island, where the glamour quotient of the early morning beach gang rivals that of a front row at a Valentino couture show"..

A giggle a minute.

Take Me Home

So I'm just going to say it. Grandma Takes A Trip in Sydney is beyond over priced. I mean, hello, if we looked hard enough at our local St Vinnies (the rule is - the further out of the city, the better the find will be at ANY op shop) we would find the same thing at a decimal of a percentile of the price. It's just insulting. Mind you, there are some pretty things in there, I still couldn't believe how exploitive they are of "vintage" fashion, and flaunting it like it's current season swag! To bag or not to bag. My answer is, Nay! I will save my $300 on a petticoat that wasn't worn by a grandma cooking up her betty crocker, before I got a chance to get my boney bum into it. Mothballs and lace does not equal worthy.

Accesory Pick of the week - Neon ballet flats (with fluffy pastel silk dresses, and shiny boyfriend blazers - I don't care if the blazers are out - I still love them!!)

Nice means nice

Welcome! This blog is intended purely those with an insatiable love of fashion. I've been browsing australian fashion blogs for a while now, and although they serve their purpose in our ever evolving industry I must say I just couldn't find what I wanted - something sweet that offered the top advice I needed. So I decided to start my own blog. Enjoy my fellow fashionistas. xx
ps. those adorable flats you are looking at I picked up from Bloch about two years ago - they have the best slip ons and are divine to wear after you've been dragging your ass around in heels all night. Taxi!
